DAY 11 – Leo’s Random Leg Allergy Apocalypse (Round 1)

DAY 11 – Leo’s Random Leg Allergy Apocalypse (Round 1)

Two years ago, Leo woke up with a swollen leg, inflamed skin, and a fever.

No warning. Just chaos.

Chow Chows are prone to skin issues, but this was next level. We worked with the vet immediately.

Why Dog Allergies Flare Up

Dogs can develop allergies at any age. The immune system reacts to something harmless like it is a threat. That reaction shows up on the skin.

Chow Chows, with their thick coats and sensitive skin, can be more prone to irritation if moisture gets trapped or if inflammation goes unchecked.

The tricky part is identifying the trigger.

Food?
Grass?
New detergent?
Seasonal pollen?

Sometimes it is a process of elimination.

What I could control? His food.

During flare ups, I strip everything back to basics. No new treats. No flavored anything. Just his balanced food and small amounts of rehydrated Krunchmates vegetables.

Single ingredient. No additives. No guessing.

While food is not always the trigger, diet plays a big role in skin health. We keep Leo’s meals simple with single ingredient foods and avoid unnecessary additives.

Krunchmates dehydrated vegetables fit perfectly into that approach. No fillers. No artificial ingredients. Just real vegetables. When managing potential food sensitivities, knowing exactly what goes into the bowl matters.

It is not a magic cure.

But reducing unnecessary ingredients helps eliminate one possible trigger.

When your dog’s immune system is acting dramatic, simplicity is survival.
